Consider this. Human mind is one big mistery. We don't know it's depth or it is predictable nor it's stability.
Human nowadays have lots of needs and it seems to grow unlimited. We can draw an analogy between the unlimited human needs with the mind itself. So as long as they work the same way you cannot identify oneself to another as exact the same way, because they tend to do so although in substance they are the same. All you can do is just pull some variable that tentatively match with another variable to oneself at that moment of time to define more common and general understanding.
Before asking a question of "Who are you?" Better questioning our self "Who am I?"
